As Managing Director and a co-founder of Ortec Finance’s Climate & ESG Solutions, Willemijn is responsible for driving the holistic integration of climate risk and opportunities into investment decision-making technology and solutions. She leads a team of 20+ professionals who build advanced research-based forward-looking models. These models enable leading global financial institutions to understand their climate risk exposure and monitor portfolio net-zero alignment through independent climate analytics and expert support.
Willemijn joined Ortec Finance in 2018 and has over 15 years of experience across the climate, sustainability and finance industry. She has previously held several international finance and sustainability-related roles at the Dutch Treasury and Dutch Foreign Office, including the lead climate finance negotiator within its UNFCCC negotiation team. Prior to joining Ortec Finance, she oversaw the pension fiduciary MN’s climate-related strategy and active ownership, where she delivered the first TCFD report to be published by a pension fund in the Netherlands.
Willemijn holds a Master of Economics from the University of Utrecht and environmental economics qualifications from the London School of Economics.
