Junior Software Engineer

Are you a software engineer, and looking for the perfect place to make a start for your career? We offer a position for a full-stack developer in our Real Estate solution. That means that you will be developing both on the Angular frontend, and the Java/Kotlin backend.

What do we have to offer?

We are the experts in determining the value of houses, offices, shops, and all other kinds of real estate. At Ortec Finance you will contribute to our software that helps our customers in determining the value of their houses. Our applications are designed to optimize this process and give more insight using all kinds of market information. You will be part of one of our engineering teams. This scrum team consists of developers and analysts. The team is responsible for developing stable and user-friendly software. Our tech stack is up-to-date with the newest technologies and we strive to keep it that way. Every two weeks we have a just-do-it day where you can work on your own pet projects.

You will be responsible for the development of our web applications. This means you will be spending most of your time designing and implementing changes and new features. Since we are an all-round team, we expect that you will be able to contribute on the Java/Kotlin backend as well as on the Angular frontend. It’s not required to have prior knowledge on this part, but you are eager to work with these technologies and learn to use them.

We are also planning to make a transition to a cloud-native architecture. This means that we will setup a new infrastructure, implement new tooling and make new CI-CD pipelines. You will also play a role in this process.

At the company we also have lots of knowledge sharing. There are working groups with experts (which we call chapters) on several topics. We do have regular meetings where recent topics are discussed (with drinks and snacks). And frequently we have non-work related fun stuff, like gaming nights, team outings and the yearly skiing trip.

• You have a bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science, or related.
• You have 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of Java, Kotlin or Javascript frameworks is not required, but is a great advantage.
• Being fluent in English is a requirement, command of the Dutch language is a pre.
