What do we have to offer?
As the leader of our Scenario & Asset Valuation (SAV) solution's software development team, you will play a crucial role in Ortec Finance. Your team is end-to-end responsible for innovating, developing, and maintaining the software behind our Economic Scenario Generators (ESGs).
In this position, you will oversee the management and results of your team, with a focus on our most important project: delivering cloud-based economic scenarios to our customers using cutting-edge technologies. As the product owner, you will be responsible for the roadmap, backlog prioritization, and corresponding stories, as well as monitoring progress and re-evaluating priorities to ensure optimal development.
In addition to product ownership, you will also be responsible for technical architecture, working to create a scalable software platform. Your ability to connect with customers, the Client Servicing Team, and other internal and external stakeholders will be critical in developing a widely supported development agenda.
Guiding and coaching team members to use their talents and grow professionally is another essential part of this role. As a member of the SAV management team, you will contribute to departmental strategy and play an active role in shaping the future of the SAV solution. Within the role, there is a plenty of room for independence and autonomy.
The Scenario & Asset Valuation (SAV) solution
The Scenario & Asset Valuation (SAV) solution at Ortec Finance is a dynamic and innovative group of approximately 25 people, consisting of Quantitative Financial Analysts, Business Specialists, and Quantitative and Software Engineers. SAV is responsible for end-to-end innovation, calibration, software development, maintenance, and client-servicing of our Economic Scenario Generators (ESGs), which provide real-world and risk-neutral scenarios for investment, risk management, and valuation purposes. As a cornerstone of the advisory services provided by Ortec Finance, the Ortec Finance Scenario set (OFS) offers worldwide asset class coverage and serves as a crucial input for our clients’ financial decision-making. Our software and models support applications such as Asset Liability Management (ALM) and risk management for pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, and private wealth management. Your team
As the leader of the software development team, you'll be working with a talented and diverse group of individuals with backgrounds in computer science, mathematics, and computational science. We value collaboration and knowledge sharing, and work together in an agile setting in T-shaped roles to contribute to all parts of the development process.
Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the software that powers our Economic Scenario Generators (ESGs), which generate large numbers of scenarios for investment and risk management purposes. We use a range of technologies, with a focus on C# and Python. We are currently migrating our products to Kubernetes. We also work with public cloud and containers.

- You have a bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Vision on development of products and technology in the relevant solution
- Experience with and capable of directing the development process (SCRUM)
- Solid command of the English language is required, both in speaking and in writing (and command of the Dutch language is a pre).
