Ortec Finance is delighted to be one of the keynote speakers at the 2018 conference Annual Conference - Understanding saver perspectives – organized by The Pensions And Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA).

PLSA has been working towards helping everyone achieve a better income in retirement. They work to get more people and money into retirement savings, to get more value out of those savings and to build the confidence and understanding of savers.

PLSA represents:

  • Over 1,300 pension schemes with 20 million savers. These include defined benefit, defined contribution, master trusts and local government funds.
  • 1,000,000,000,000, (£1 trillion) in assets
  • Some 400 businesses which provide essential services and advice to UK pensions providers.

In this year’s conference, PLSA is exploring several ideas to promote improved saver engagement and find out the reasons why saver engagement is currently lower than expected.

In this context, Martijn Vos, Managing Director Pensions & Insurance, Ortec Finance will present his ideas on creating a decumulation nation and will delve deep into discussing decumulation phase from a non-UK Perspective. While the process of selecting a drawdown or annuity product, understanding tax implications and retirement income needs, selecting and executing a decumulation strategy – is complicated, Martijn will speak about how the process has evolved, the latest ideas and developments in decumulation across different countries. He will be joined by Chris Wagstaff, Head of Pensions and Investment Education, Columbia Threadneedle and the session will be chaired by Tiffany Tsang, Policy Lead, LGPS and DB, PLSA.

We hope to see you there!
