Workshop 1: OPAL Workshop

Innovations and best practices in the field of Goal based financial planning and monitoring. During this interactive hands-on workshop you will learn how new and planned functionality will prepare OPAL for the future of financial planning and investment decision support. Next to that we will discuss the characteristics of a ‘good advice’.

This will amongst others cover:

  • Recent innovations
  • Using the OPAL platform for a hybrid approach
  • Risk decomposition: analyze the allocation of diversification to the risk factors
  • Best advice approach
  • Data aggregation
  • (Innovation) roadmap

 

Workshop 2: Climate risk workshop

Climate risk is recognized as a systemic driver of financial risk. This introduces new challenges for investors. What is the impact of various global warming pathways on the forward-looking financial risks and returns? And, what does this mean for your long-term objectives and risk appetite? During this interactive workshop, we will have an in-depth discussion on Ortec Finance latest innovation for embedding climate related risks and opportunities into financial planning and risk analysis.*

Indicative topics to be covered:

1. Introducing the climate change challenge including upcoming financial regulation

2. Presenting the climate-savvy scenario methodology
  • Building block I: climate data inputs
  • Building block II: translation to macro-economic shocks
  • Building block III: translation to financial markets via adjusted Ortec Finance scenario methodology

3. Illustrative case study: applying climate-savvy scenario’s to an investment portfolio * Please note that this is not a hands-on software training.

 


 

Locations

The workshops and evening program on 20 March will be hosted at the strikingly designed all-glass hotel - Room Mate Aitana. For the congress day on 21 March, you are invited to the nearby Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, just like last year. This unique building, with beautiful vistas over the river IJ, is the most important stage in the Netherlands for contemporary music.
