Richard Clarke

As Acute Physical Risk and Climate Specialist within Ortec Finance’s Climate & ESG Solutions, Richard is responsible for ensuring the latest climate knowledge and research is effectively integrated into its acute (extreme weather) physical risk modeling tool.

Richard joined Ortec Finance in 2019 with decades of extensive experience and expertise across climate science analysis and energy technology. Prior to joining Ortec Finance, he developed an in-depth physical risk model to determine carbon pricing methods. This model was published in his book titled ‘Predicting the Price of Carbon’ in 2016, gaining industry recognition and continues to drive dialogue amongst his peers.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University, UK and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Electronic Engineering from Open University, UK. He is a fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers UK.
