Following the strong response to our earlier online panel discussion featuring investors and sustainable finance leaders from North America, continental Europe, and the UK, we are pleased to host a follow-up session focused on perspectives from the Asia-Pacific region.
As net-zero targets for 2050 appear increasingly out of reach, institutional investors and asset managers are reassessing the broader implications of climate change for investment policy and capital market assumptions.
Join us for an online panel exploring climate change’s impact on capital market assumptions (CMAs), including short and longer-term market pricing dynamics specifically aimed at pension funds, insurance companies and asset managers, where experts from Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong will explore the following themes:
- Whether investment portfolios and policies, in addition to investment strategies, are sufficiently resilient to escalating physical climate risks
- With net-zero by 2050 no longer realistic, should CMAs be adjusted to reflect a higher minimum impact from physical risks?
- How do short- and long-term impacts of physical risks differ, and what could drive market pricing across the investment horizon?
- Will transition risks still materialize under current low-ambition policies - potentially by escalating physical risks? Could portfolio impacts differ between gradual or sudden policy implementation?
- How could transition risks be repriced - gradually, via shocks, sentiment, or a mix?
