On May 7, the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) announced the inaugural release of their short-term climate scenarios, marking a significant expansion in the options available to financial institutions seeking to incorporate top-down climate scenario analysis into their risk management frameworks.
To help the global investment community better understand the new scenarios, designed to simulate the potential near-term impacts of climate policies and climate change on macroeconomies, sectors and the financial system – we invite you to join us for an introductory webinar.
This session, as a follow-up to our webinar ‘Utilizing NGFS climate scenarios for climate risk analysis’, will feature Sophie Heald and Dr Bronwyn Claire from our Climate Scenarios & Sustainability team. They will discuss:
- An overview of the four freely available scenarios from an institutional investor’s perspective
- How physical, transition and market pricing risks have been assessed and quantified
- How the scenarios can be utilized with NGFS’s longer-term climate scenarios as well as the 2025 Ortec Finance Climate Scenarios to inform investment decisions
